I think car shopping is like gambling. You sometimes get some good ones and you sometimes bad ones. I am not sure if you ever win if you play the game all the time in the long run. When the 370 first came out, the dealership lowballed and insulted me on a yellow one I liked. I waited a year before I started shopping for a 370 again. Once again, a different dealership treated me like I was wasting their time even though I was ready to buy. I ended up buying that very same car from another Nissan dealership 30 miles away (they did a swap).
There is a Nissan dealership 4 miles away from my house. While their sales staff had always treated me right, but we never could close a deal because they would always offer me $2500 less on my trade in than the any other dealerships. I always tell them they have to fire their used car manager if they want me to buy a car from them. With the invention of the internet, I just bypass the whole mess and do all my homework up online.
