I don't like the new Z's outlook nor do I like the new Genesis. OP look at your plans for the car. If you want a reliable car that you won't tinker with and will offer a great warranty, hard to deny the Genesis. Sure the build quality isn't as great but the warranty will cover the entire time you won the vehicle instead of the typical 3/36,000.
Also, I can say that I have rarely come across a good dealer warranty service story. Nissan dealers or at least the service departments don't have good press on this forum.
The build quality and performance of the Z is leaps and bounds over the Genesis. Remember Nissan has been doing this for decades, Hyndai is still new to the game and its more than horsepower #'s on paper. The Z chassis is fabulous the interior is sporty, you know what this car was meant to do. Sure the Z has its issues, needs an oil cooler, lack of brake ducts for cooling, expensive esther oil, chunky manual gearbox (more of a preference than an actual issue).
If you want to enjoy the driving experience the Z is the way to go, if you are more concerned with a fun ride and protecting your wallet get the Genesis.
