the thing about mo. state is they start you out cheap and you sign a contract where you can't go anywhere else for 2 years. starting pay in 2003 was like 27 grand a year

yeah i didnt see anything about a contract but yea pay is def. less than IL on the pay front. But that contract thing kinda worries me. I guess I'll cross that bridge when/if it comes up. But I like how MO lays the entire process out all the way till when you would start the academy. Im in waiting hell with like 3 departments right now.
i think probationary officers start at 36k a year so hey I'll take it. theres always overtime for a young single no children guy. For the academy training and experience it really cant hurt and its better than the bank.
