redline is a group 5 along with motul 300v. it has the ester and bunch of other addictive names i can't pronounce. common results with it is lower oil temp on our cars and the idling sound is quieter.
would it matter much if you put in castrol/pennzoil/mobil1 or watever group 3. probably not, as long as you change the oil when you should.
i go with redline for the stated reasons and for peace of mind so i can beat the **** out of the car
