Rules of engagement:
Handling cannot be lessened.
Comfort cannot be lessened.
Car should not bottom out.
I moved to a 2"0 tire from the stock 19", so the ride is already going to be a little firmer/harder
and yes, I do like the look of the lowered car.

ps I looked at the tanabe springs N210 but read mixed reviews

Ok here goes-
I had Tanabe GF210 springs on my Z.
Review- looked a lot better 1-1.2 drop
Handling- ok a little less body roll then stock but the ride was a little more bouncy due to the stock strut being used. I could go on for ever more in depth on this.
Switched to BC racing coilovers and it was a million times better.
If you decide to lower and have the money grab a set of coilovers. You will be able to adjust the height, dampening, pre-load etc. The ride will be better then stock and u can choose how high or low to go. The advantage of a coilover is when you lower it the strut piston does not shorten thus not giving a bouncy feel and all the other horrible things you will feel with springs on stock struts.
Good luck with your choices, if you go an inch 1.5 inch drop it won't be impractical but will make the car look and ride much better. (Coilovers of course)
