Resonation has nothing to do with performance gain. It is purely to try and get the sound you're looking for.

With non resonated you get the full volume of the motor plus rasp.

With the 12" and 18" resonators, the rasp is removed and the volume is toned down a bit. Plus it gives it a deeper sound.

Throw in the headers and or the CF exhaust cans and you can change the note even more to give yourself a completely unique setuop
