You'd think you would, but you don't.  Most aftermarket TP's and even headers too have figured out the best length/angles to keep the sensors away from the gasses enough not to throw codes. The steel wool is just a bit to help. If you decide to go that route, I used medium coarseness steel wool.

Very cool! Thanks Chris! I havn't bolted on test pipes, or should I say, have had cats that were bolted and not welded in my exhaust system, since my 1980 Totota Corolla Liftback!

Would pop the cats back in for inspection day back in NYC!
