30+ years? Pssssh, you're just a babe. LOL, here's what my friends and I first had in the early 60's. I'm not fking kidding:

Eventually I graduated to this bad boy Hobie, with trucks that actually pivoted:

I haven't been on a board in about 5 years, though. Snowboards and skis for me now, I keep away from the pavement at my age.
