does your invoice state the part that was replaced?
if not, i would go back to the dealer and ask to show you the steering lock they pulled out of the car. i guess that's one way to tell if they swapped it or not.
dont know the inventory levels at the nissan service warehouses so do not know how many RevB's are still out there.
if they did not swap it out it will probably fail again soon so just be on the look out i guess... use a sharpie or something to mark a dot or something on the corner somewhere. (this is sounding like a jiffylube investigation i saw on TV... lol
