I have had great experience with polishes and clay bar, myself. One thing I could recommend before going the professional route is a product made by Turtle Wax, in their "ICE" line, called Clay bar kit
$15.99 on Amazon right now. This stuff is absolutely amazing, and extremely easy to use. I think it should solve your swirly issues...
