5 hour drive is fine. We drove a brand new 135i 8 hours straight on the highway and till this date the car runs very smooth. Just vary your RPM every half an hour (switch from 6 to 5th. Drive few minutes on 5th and then 6th again). As for bug or highway rock chip, just tape the front with blue painters tape. You should be fine. Hopefully you get the deal. That's a smokin' deal!

Also, DO NOT buy cheap blue painters tape. Buy the 3m brand only. Some bmw owners was in a rush and picked up some cheap painters tape from a dollar store. The glue was all over the paint. Here's a good example how to tape it
