That's what I did. I have a 2012 on the way and will hopefully be here next month. Not that I'll be able to/want drive it during winter. At least it'll be pretty to look at in the garage.
You can play the waiting game forever. If/when the next gen car does come out, I'd personally want to avoid the first couple years so they can get the bugs worked out, especially if it has a bunch of new technology. By then, you're at least 2-3 years out. Get the 2012. It's an incredible car, and you can have fun now!
And when you do want to upgrade to the new hotness, trade in.
