I'm not being vain or anything. There's a group of us here that are addicted to buy cars (see the Automobiles Anonymous thread) and we use this forum to try and talk ourselves out of doing something stupid. So when I say, "I *could* get a 911, but..." it just
reinforces to me that I *can't* get one because I'd have to give up every other interest of mine and then live with a car payment that could very well be rent... or go towards a house... and I'd effectively be working just to pay for a car. I don't think I'm the only person here that does that (openly talks about future cars... and talks themselves out of it).
It's important therapy because there are a lot of us that will price out cars that we really shouldn't be pricing out... and maybe we're mentally unstable enough to actually go out and make a pretty bad financial decision.
