If you do ignore the rated load of 3000 pounds per pair and exceed the capacity of the ramps, they will crush as you drive up them rather than collapse when you are at the top. So there is no risk of getting trapped beneath the car. Heavy Duty versions of the ramps are available with a 5000 pound per pair capacity.
