Having owned a 2004 RX-8 I can attest to the earlier comments about the difference between the Z and the Mazda in terms of acceleration. While it was cool to push the Mazda to 9k rpms and the rotary sound is unique, there is no "umph".

You won't find the Z to be a nimble in terms of handling as the RX-8. However, it is very planted and can take all kinds of gas through the turns. It is more fun, IMO, than the Mazda as a result.

You will almost double your gas mileage with a Z. And no more adding oil every 1000 miles!

Sorry, can't comment on an EVO...have never driven one!
