There are many sides to the FI story. Here is mine.

I installed my TT kit in April. My car had 12k miles on it at the time.

I put down 474 hp and 396tq on a dynojet.

I get 18mpg mixed driving.

I drove it hard all summer with zero issues.

I have a 34 row oil cooler and never saw temps above 220 even on 98 degree days with hard driving.

I don't know what extra maintenance everyone keeps talking about with TT but the only thing that I do different is change the oil more often than I would normally.

When I put it away for the winter it had a little over 18k miles.

I would have no problem daily driving this car if I needed to. It starts and runs like stock until you get into the boost.

Don't get me wrong. I am not delusional. Whenever you take a NA car and add FI you are taking a big risk.

I did save a bunch by doing the install myself. I spent about $10k on the kit and supporting mods. I paid $32k for my car and I have about $1300 in other mods. So for less than $45k I have a fast, reliable and rare car.

Do I think it was worth it? HELL YES!
