Just checked out the Nissan in Santa Monica. They have four. 2 black, 1 silver, 1 platinum. No markups, all MSRP. I think only 1 was basic, the rest touring with a mix of sports package, nav, and the one black in the showroom was fully loaded AT for just under $42k.
They look nice, but I'm not sold on the colors. The black was very boring. The two silvers were just like every other vehicle on the road. The platinum is what I would lean towards. This dealer said they probably won't ever get any of the colored models unless someone ordered them. Shame because I really want to see the blue/red/yellow in person as no two photos have been the same of any of those colors. Guess the roads will continue to be filled with black and silver Z's to blend in with the rest of the black and silver sedans. *yawn*
I can't believe how dumb the salesmen are about this car. I was in the fully loaded Z in the showroom, and said "so this is the fully loaded Z" and without hessitating the salesmen said, nah there is still a grand touring trim. I said there were only two, basic and touring but he went on saying the grand touring gave bigger brakes and more power. Yeah, sure buddy.
Sadly they won't let you test drive it unless you buy it. Well I'm not buying it unless I test drive it. This isn't a 200k Ferrari, it is still a Nissan mass produced consumer car. Guess I'll wait until the hype dies down and look at buying in the spring. We should know invoice prices by then and I'm not going much over.
Sweet vehicle though.
