My girlfriend:
Canon 7D | 28-135mm f/5.6 | 1/40 sec | ISO 1600
Scarlett:
Canon 7D | 28-135mm f/5.6 | 1/8 sec | ISO 3200
Just messing around with a few shots around the house, with the camera set on CA (Creative Auto, or "Green Square Plus") to see how it behaves.
This camera is light years ahead of my 2003 10D in how quickly it focuses and how well it meters the light of a scene. I guess they've programmed the auto modes with the assumption that the person aiming the camera can't hold it still, ratcheting up the ISO to achieve a faster shutter speed. This results in a fair bit of noise. Nothing that can't be edited out, but I'd rather it wasn't there in the first place.
Time to dive into the manual and start using my camera for real.
Here's another beer from the old camera:
Canon 10D | 50mm f/2.8 | 1/125 sec | ISO 400
