OK, how about this: you have a long stretch of steep downhill in front of you. It's winding and takes you down a small mountain road into town. Traffic is going at 40 mph. Do you: keep it in 5th or 6th and use the brakes, OR, put it in 3rd and engine brake all the way down?
I drop it into 3-4 depending on how fast I am going, but that habit may have to change once I see how things go with boost, lol.
