I get 11 to 15 degrees cooler temps on other brands. But I also drive pretty hard. I just feel if it doesn't handle extremes well (in the Z) under harsh conditions why use it?
The vette probably has way better transmission and oil cooling systems than the Z. The vette ALSO doesn't rev as high. If the Z was a cooler running car and didn't rev as high as it does I'm sure mobil 1 would do better. But it doesn't so it isn't. Lol.
In the end mobil1 is not good due to the Z not being engineered as well in the cooling dept. But the Z's flaw has exposed some of this oils weakness and other oils strength.
Spring Mountain is about 45 minutes outside of Vegas.

The Z06 revs to 7K rpm and covers a lot longer stroke, thus the piston is moving faster than in your 370Z.

Yes, it does have a better cooling system, but we still saw 270+*F oil temps. Mobil 1 did fine.

Do you have UOA's to support your claims about the 370Z performing poorly with Mobil 1?

Your oil may be 10-15* cooler with other brands, but what do the wear numbers look like? I agree, if the only difference is temp, use the other brands! I am also not telling you I think you are wrong, I am simply asking for a bit more info.

Have you tried Nissan's Ester oil, how did that do? It has gotten ripped a new one on BITOG and other sites where people post actual data.

VQ37VHR UOA question - Bob Is The Oil Guy

^Read that thread. The Nissan Ester stuff is performing VERY poorly when you look at the actual wear data and how the oil is holding up (It's not).

Basically, your "Nissan Ester" stuff is a group III oil with "Ester" in it. Who knows how much? Apparently not a ton of it. It shears easily, the TBN drops like a brick, and it's just not a very good oil, really. The 5-30 DEXOS stuff from Mobil 1 is far superior in every way once you get past the emotional aspect.
