My Z has just over 1000 miles on it, it's used about a third of a quart of oil,and there's lots of evidence of oil collecting in the tailpipes. My dealer says they've not heard of this. My local Z car club suggested I get on this forum and put the question out there.
It's normal for a new engine to use some oil. Mine used about 3/4 of a quart before I gave it its first oil change (at around 1700 miles). I takes some time for the piston rings to "seat" and until they do, the engine will burn some oil. This is normal. As far as the oil in the tail pipe goes, not really sure about that one.

I wouldn't worry too much about it until the engine has around 5000 miles on it.
