I never got around to finishing the story, because I was at a mild loss of words and decided to just hit "Submit Reply" and call it a day.
She has been battling cancer. Her hair came back in and she really needed some help with it, but she's utilizing an oxygen tank and can't go for long periods away from the breathing machine.
Her daughter, who is also a client of mine, asked me if I would go to their house and see her mom, and I of course said yes.
