I can't tell that there is any loss in power. I think somebody dyno'd it and said it got them about a gain of 3hp. I wouldn't worry too much about the loss of back pressure since the stock cats and resonators are still in place. So far everyone that has hear my car has nothing but good things to say about it.
The rpm drop I'm referring to is when you are trying to shift from 1st to 2nd and you have to wait on the rpms to drop (feels like forever to me) for a smooth shift. Imo, the flywheel/clutch combo holds onto too much momentum. I'm willing to trade a bit more effort and higher revs to get started for this benefit. Once you are used to the lighter combo, it isn't any harder to drive than stock minus a little more effort.
