I also had to turn off the software fan control because it wasn't sufficient enough to cool my card. The fan was spinning at about 50% when the card was in the high 70 Celsius range. I override fan controls and set it to manual speeds at certain temperatures (50% at 60 cels, 60% at low 70 c etc
.
Definitely curious though, because it is not uncommon for it to be a problem with BF3..i hear of peoples rigs crashing ALL the time from the game.
