If they plug your car in and the ECU tells the computer your good, your good. Be warned that if you just cleared a CEL and you try to plug in right away you will fail. I don't know what it is on a Z yet but on newer domestics you need to drive about 150 miles between a certain speed/rpm before there is enough time for it to gather the info it needs to pass you.
That being said, if you go to a strict inspector, they will look under your car for cats. I have had two inspectors fail for no visual cats on the car even with the ECU saying it had them... lol
