i use Hydro almost every wash to enhance the polymer sealant's durability (Griot's Paint Sealant). i also use it on my wheels too.
as for QD (SpeedShine), i use it pretty much when the car has minor dust/bug guts, bird crap or has sat through morning dew.
for my dd and wheels i use Prima Slick. it's polymer based and can be used on pretty hot surfaces without going werd.
