There are numerous other ways. Some companies make a programmable flasher relay (just wire to the constant on the light). It does the flashing for you and then stops. Similar to some motorcycle lights. I figured the timer relay is the most cost effective way for people and you can tuck the relay behind the plastics in the hatch. Plus they have great adjustability. If I still had my Z I would do a full write up. Most people here who are remotely electronically savvy can figure it out. Maybe EVO-R will see everyone’s comments and design the "next generation or another model with different options for people.
