Yes, I see what is going on on the 'vette forum as well.
Why don't you just stay on the corvette forums??? You have the onliest automotive identity crisis. One minute all you do is spew out every flaw and negative thought you have on the Z. Then you make threads saying you are about to buy one because...
Dude get a grip. The Z is no vette in power but kills it in handling when talking street performance. The vetter is a track car. The vette has poor build quality and costs twice the price. And if you are an enthusiast? Your warranty is a secondary thought. You don't want to mod a Z for more power??? FINE don't buy one. But stop trying to convince us it is not worth modding or is an inferior car due to your lack, there of. The corvette has an impressive engine and that's where it ends. After that the vette needs work too. GM'S axles break under heavy use, gaskets blow left and right under heavy use. Chassis durability sux. Build quality is econo class on a 60k car and you can sell the phrase "affordable supercar" all day long but its still a cheaply built american wannabe supercar. the Z may need turbos and coolers but the vette needs a suspension, new axle and differential a completely new interior and RATTLE-REPELLANT. The vette rattles more than an ARIZONA SNAKE-PIT.

JUST KEEPING IT REAL, I still think vettes are "Generally" cool. But vettes need a lot of work too. At 32k, the Z still has no competitor. And you wanna get technical about the Z being slower than mustangs. But think about it. 12.8 quarters on the stang. 13.1 on the Z. One is a 5litre v8, the other 3.7 v6. Hmmmm 13.1 is wayyyy more impressive. I've been next to 5.0's on real world pavement. They aren't faster in that situation. That's one thing that's never discussed here. The performance on pavement is still way superior. That's where u begin to compare BMW, the king of pavement cars and the 370z, puts a dent in that one too.
On the track, the Z is not as race ready as a vette or mustang, but it still holds its own. And the evo... fun car, but is sitting in the rattle pit with the vette. Its an awwd as well so its even less of a car to compare. Its designed for a whole different type of fun.
You don't choose EVO's over Z's. You try to own both for a different driving experience. But the evo still can't be a Z in the build quality department.
