Mike, thanks for bringing everyone up to speed. I'm sure the guys that are waiting on their spoiler are glad to here that you're addressing the issues.
I have built cars for SEMA, and while I'm not attending this year, I was present last year and will there next year as well as PRI in Orlando. I guess that begs the question, why am I not there this year? Well, in my line of work we simply have too many things going on and I refuse to let my customers suffer because of that. If that means missing SEMA, so be it. Now, that might not be the issue... Maybe there was an issue with the parts themselves. I can understand quality issues... Those things take time to address. A part like that can't be made overnight so the only option the customer has is to wait.
That being said, I think being open and upfront with them is the only way to prevent something like this from happening. I'm not going to tell you how to do things, but as a potential customer I can only share my ideas, thoughts and suggestions.
For the sake of the people waiting, do you have an estimate on how long it will take before these things ship?
In my opinion, and take this with a grain of salt, but if I buy a part and am told its going to be 3 months before I get it... That's cool. It's up front and I'd be happy to wait. But if I'm told 3 weeks and get excuses for 3 months, it gets frustrating.
Ultimately I try not to over promise and under deliver but thanks again for brining everyone up to speed.
