I have a S&W M&P long slide in 9mm. It's a good weapon. Mine was certainly improved by adding a DCAEK from Apex Tactical. I don't use it for CCW. I think that the compact version would be an acceptable choice for that purpose, however. There are some problems with them...point of impact can be notably variable relative to the ammo used, and they do have a tendency to be sensitive to slide release when a magazine is slammed home on slide lock, such as in a tactical reload.
