Yah, I didn't come up with the idea, I read it online and tried it. The thing about salt is you need to keep it wet for 10-20 min before it all dissolves away. I don't like crawling under a car with my hose splashing water in my face so I do this after I'm done changing the oil while the car is still on ramps. This is on my dd, btw. My Z hibernates through winter.
and good idea about the brush. I too use my wheel brush on stubborn areas.
