Since it's early in the production year I'd guess Nissan will be holding their MSRP and delivery charge. As on 2011's the price held until about mid-year and then they took it up about $500. I'm just wondering what that new line item
TBD charge is. No big deal about it, just curious. Like it's Nissan saying, oh yeah the MSRP didn't change this year, but now there is some $500 hidden fee they didn't charge last year. You know, accounting tricks. But I don't know, that's why I'm wondering. It's not on my form, so we'll see what a happens. I too have my deal in writing that I pay invoice.

I thought VIN# will only be filled out once they actually build the car. I was told by the sales guy that the car will be in production late November and is expected to arrive early January. The page does say "ETA: Month of 01/12".

Like I said, my form is totally filled out with VIN# and everything. If you read above to my previous posts on this thread and the other recent ones about ordering cars, you'll see that my car was built on September 25th 2011, has a VIN# in the 500's, and is scheduled for delivery November 18th. The dealer called me with the VIN# on October 10th, or about 2 weeks after it was built. I'm not sure if he waited to tell me, or if he called me right when he got it.

Hope you're right. I know my sales guy would soon call me about leaving the deposit. But he did say that he wont ask for the deposit unless the order goes through. He also said that I should hear something by first Monday of November since that's when they order their stuff but I received this email yesterday so I am not sure if the order was accepted or not.

Yep, allocations are given out to dealers at the first of each month, so that's what he's talking about. He's being fairly honest with you and the not taking your deposit shows it. What you need to talk to him about is what I'm calling the "back door" ordering method, where he doesn't have to wait for his allocation. Only 1 of the 10+ dealers here in Southwest Ohio even knew this method even existed, and it's how I got my car on actual order when I did, otherwise I'd still be waiting. Tell him to read deep in the ordering information. My dealer told me it's like 20 pages deep, but is reserved for dealers to do when they have a 100% bought car, a for sure sale. According to him, it's only something they can do once a month, with 1 car. They have to contact Nissan Distribution U.S.A. direct via phone, talk to them, then fill out some sort of paperwork, then FAX it in to NDUSA. From there they need to make phone contact again and confirm everything. A few days after his final correspondence with them, he went in the Nissan computer system and my order was in the official system, locked in with my name associated with the order. What I can tell you for sure is this is what went down with my dealer because I saw it happen. I'm not sure the part about 1 car per month is totally accurate (or true), but the rest of it actually happened so I know it can work. My dealer has yet to actually get a Nissan allocation for a 2012, but my car is to be delivered in about 3 weeks. So without this method I'd still be waiting to even order it.
Hope this helps.
