Just browsing the forum and antagonizing a few people here and there as it were, my observation mirrors your own as stated. I would be curious to know for fact. I know most auto manufacturers make "silent changes" to problem areas, and I think this was one for Nissan. I drove a couple of '10 370Z's and had nothing ill at all to say about the shifter and what it stirred. Then, my experience with manuals is limited to Tremec models TR3650,TR6060,TKO500, and T56. Notchiness is something I am incapable of noticing anymore.
