You are correct. Both the Stillen and Z1 kits use a Setrab core. Mocal and Setrab are highly recognized as industry leaders in automotive cooling products.
Some of the differences in the kits include:
- Stillen uses a 9 series core. This is MUCH wider than the 6 series core used by Z1. The draw back is that the Stillen core hangs off of the core support, whereas the 6 series core used by Z1 and GTM can be tucked neatly into the core support.
- Z1 uses a -10 AN line for increased flow and volume. The Stillen kits use a -8 AN line.
- The Stillen kit uses an Earl's sandwich plate which DOES NOT retain the factory 370Z size oil filter. The mocal sandwich plate used in the GTM and Z1 kits DO.
Both kits are competively priced. Both kits have their nice features and their short comings. When designing our kit, we attempted to examine as many possible installation scenarios and existing kits on the market to determine what needed to be corrected in order to create a very desirable product.
