Prior to my 2009 Z, my previous car was a 1999 WS6 (which I drove for 10 years or so), so I can at least provide you with some subjective reference.

With a perfect driver in both, and the kind of mild bolt-ons, tire/wheel changes, etc you'd expect from someone running at a dragstrip, I'd give the 1/4-mile edge to the WS6. In any case, with any level of driver it's going to be more about car prep and driver skill/luck than the cars, they're close enough.

Handling stuff: For a muscle car of its era, the WS6 actually handles really well (especially with a few mild upgrades: swaybars, shocks, etc). But even a stock Z blows it away by miles on all aspects of cornering, especially feedback to the driver. Comparatively speaking, that WS6 feels like a big iron boat.
