Coming from a Euro-centric background (my '94 Miata was/is my first non-Euro car, and I made it to age 34, three years ago, before buying that) I just don't have the hang-ups about which brand, or whether it is Korean or Japanese, or whatever. To be fair, all of my friends will think I've gone nuts if I buy anything other than a German car (they don't respect the many years I spent with Alfas I guess), so peer pressure is the same (and ignored, thanks) regardless.
I think the Genesis is a great-looking car, and the tuners will have a lot of fun with them. They should get awfully mean on the track when stripped out, too.
BUT
Somehow it's still not for me. It's still lesser than other cars I could spend my future dollars on. Maybe it is the economy brand specter, after all. Or maybe the engineer in me still sees the 370Z as the superior car (not to mention even better-looking).
I'd enjoy driving around in a Genesis. But I will, someday, cherish my 370Z.
