Default Procedure for Obtaining Build number/date

As many of you know, I have been pursuing a resolution for NISSAN's failure to provide Build Number/Date information since May of last year...
As one of the first to make the call, I obtained the information for my vehicle in June 2010 522/1000 1/20/2010.

Yet there still seems to be ongoing issues connecting with some specific Extension that keeps changing. As a result people keep asking me how to obtain the
information because calling some posted extension & asking to speak with a now non-existent Staci or Heidi is quite frustrating...

To that end I called the 1 800 number this morning to see if I could not determine a more reliable method of obtaining the information for all of you.
The following is a result of that phone call.

For those who've already obtained their information - this post has a request for you too... So please read on.

Posing as an owner who did not know their build number - I called the 1 800 number for customer service at Nissan North America.

800-647-7261 after listening to the options... I
Pressed 7 (to speak with a live Representative)
Pressed 3 (for general questions about my Nissan)

you don't have to listen to all the options before pressing a selection

A rep answered the phone asking if they could help me. I stated:
"I own a 40th A.E. 370Z and there were only 1000 of these vehicles produced for North America - I am calling to obtain the build number/date for my vehicle -
as this information was not provided at time of purchase...."

The Rep asked me for my VIN # (so have it Handy) and I gave it. Within a minute - the rep told me my build date... and I then asked for the build number?
She said something I have never heard before.
"We have a Vin # decoder - that uses the last 6 numbers of the VIN to provide the Build date". She put me on hold for two minutes and came back to tell me my build number is: 522

The last 6 numbers of my VIN # is 502217

I went onto say all of us on the forums here a year later are still seeking the information and are still having difficulty getting it in a timely manner.
I then asked the rep if all the 40th A.E. 370Z sold in the US were known, and if they were, could she email me the list - complete with Build Numbers and Dates...
saying that I would handle distribution of the information - so she didn't have to keep doing this day after day.

They have forwarded my request to another department (40th A.E. Dept that has been specifically tasked with handling all 40th A.E. requests)
and told me that my request will be answered one way or the other - within two business days (Tuesday).
I doubt they will give me everyone's information as they will determine it to be private in some way or another.

So consider this to be the latest method of obtaining your build number/date information - the next time I post
on here will be to post the list - or post the fact that they wouldn't give it to me and why?

For those who already have their build numbers and dates... Please post your 40th's information below including the last 6 digits of your VIN # - it will be interesting
to see how many of these known bits of information will make accurate decoding of the Build number possible... Thanks for reading and for the new owners - good luck with your search.
