I agree with you birdman, BUT the OP did take delivery of the car; i.e. accepted the contract. Take this as a lesson, and move on. Don't turn this into the victimzation of some innocent citizen story.

And while I agree 100% with everyone else about the mileage issue - with the exception that OP should go back and get "compensation" - it honestly is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. 250 miles is about 2% of the average motorist's annual mileage. Look at it this way, you're that much closer to completing your break-in.

In other words, you haven't lost any life of your car. It may have been a demo, but you accepted and drove it off the lot. Probabaly not the most scrupulous act by the dealer, but again, lesson learned.

And yes, a similar situation happened to me with a new 1985 Supra that was brought in from an out-of-town dealer. As I was driving home, I noticed it had 225 miles on it, AND an ash tray full of cigarette butts. That was skanky. LESSON Learned:

1. try and only buy cars on the dealer's lot;
2. any off lot car is to be TRUCKED from another dealer;
3. do a full walk around, test drive, and odometer check before sitting down to sign anything.
4. PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE - learn to live for another day, there will always be another car available at some point.

You've got a great car, so just let this pass and enjoy it.
