These kinds of posts in various car forums crack me up.
I think most of these people who go out of their way to write about their car versus other cars may have deeply rooted psychological issues or even just simple character defects. I mean, so what?
I was amused especially with the Crossfire forum. Man, these guys have problems. Are they validating their purchase of a Chrysler car that does not know what it wants to be when it grows up? Did they get picked on in school? Rejected by the prom queen? Mommy did not love them enough? Picked last on the softball team? Can't get over their first time in a locker room in junior high? I don't know and I am a professional.
Whatever it is that makes people bash others for their car choice, and I admit that I myself am sometimes guilty of this, does not matter. People drive what they drive for their own reasons. Look hard enough and every car has its positive and negative attributes. Fans will be fans though and it meets some underlying need to feel like the object of your obsession is better than that of others.
The Z in almost all of its iterations is not the best at anything (and I have had 10 not counting the 2 I currently own and drive), but it is a Z -- faults and all. Being a Z with its history, look and feel, driving experience and uniqueness is enough for me to love them. I rarely give a thought to others' choices.
