Yellow is a very difficult color in large volumes. Its often only done on one or two model years to pique interest in the model for specific buyers. Once they are satiated, the color is dropped.

There are also different shades of yellows and some are good...some not so good.

I owned a 1992 Sunburst Miata for many years...a yellow that works well IMHO. Despite that, only 1500 were sold in a model year when more then 50K were sold. Just not for the masses.

Mazda then came out with a different yellow 9 years later which doesn't really work. Went back to the 92' color code (with clear coat) for the their last yellow.

Corvette tends to get the yellow right. I don't think Nissan did on the Z. Recently saw a new Eclipse in yellow: no good. The shade matters.
