Its options list is just keeping pace with the trends of upcoming technologies(and maybe it has set a new trend with the syncro rev match system, which will be copied by many manufacturers to come). You need to see the car for what its worth...a sports car, not a luxo sedan.

My car comes with 425lbs of torque. Stock from the factory.
Not a sport sedan? Luxury + sport is what the 3 series is about.
Do you not consider the 335i with a robust engine, RWD, 2 seats (or 5), and great suspension, to be a sport car either? $650 and you are pushing 400hp to the wheels and 400lb torque.
My friend has JB3 and a dual cone intake, all for less than a $1K and is faster than Lamborghinis. How does the Z compare?
I would rather have luxury and sport (sedan or coupe). Not sacrifice one or the other
