Wow. Even more so than the lack of depth in the Arsenal side, I was impressed by the quality of United. Ashely Young's goals are were nothing short of spectacular. The other 6 well, some of the blame has to be placed squarely on Arsenal's defense, which looked like they should be playing in the Championship. It's amazing how much of a difference missing your centre half and full back makes. Unfortunately, I think it's time to buy, and buy big for Arsenal. You need pace and size on the back line. That was clearly evident yesterday. The wingers and strikers of United tore Arsenal's back four to shreds for 90+ minutes. You have the money, spend it. Apparently, Arsenal are interested in our old first team centre half :

It's easy to just bash Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, but it's not fair to them. I'm not going to lie, United look VERY strong and I think, again, they are the team to beat. What's even more unsettling is the fact that they started so many new faces, Welbeck, Young, Cleverly, Smalling, and Jones. And I'm amazed how quickly these new players assimilated to the team and they ALL contributed to the destruction of a weakened, but still good Arsenal side. Let's not forget that Vidic, Berbatov, Ferdinand, Valencia, Ji Sung Park, Jonny Evans AND Ryans Giggs didn't start. Its a long season ahead, but the two teams from Manchester have clearly set the pace.
