I wonder if the older F4 300mm prime would have anything to do with this or if its all WB settings in the camera.
I have replaced the old with a new F4 300mm, still no IS but AF and much much better CA with the new lens. I have yet to do any outings with it other than the the harbor shots i have. And most of those seem blueish. I will try your WB trick
Still using my 105mm 2.8 nikkor for macro though.
And Alchemy, macro is with out a doubt my favorite thing right now. There is usually something interesting to capture right in your own back yard
