I never noticed an increase in engine noise from switching the pulleys on my car, and mine have been on a really long time. There might be some (it would make sense, since the stock crank pulley has an NVH ring), but IMHO it's pretty inconsequential given how noisy a modded car is anyways. If you have aftermarket intake/exhaust work, that's going to drown out any change from the pulley.
