my uncle's skyline coupe (G37C) had this factory option on his passenger side mirror (which is the left mirror in japan). was actually pretty useful when we went out to the touge. he had to get the car like 2" from the guard rail and back up at times to let cars pass coming from the opposite direction as the roads are pretty much 1 lane in most areas up there. since the rail is lower than the side mirror it's difficult to see where your car is especially on a big coupe like the G.

i wouldn't mind having it on my cars if i bought the nav option.
