Don't sweat it too much - the prices people talk about on here are definitely "really good deal" prices, so not every dealer is going to sell at those prices. No price is firm - it just means they haven't found a buyer yet and still think they will. If you offered $29.8 they would take it... so it's not "firm", just they think they can get that, maybe.
But $29.9 is so far above what it's worth that it's not worth negotiating on the car. I would tell them you are a buyer are $x, here is my number, call me when you want to sell the car, but that in the meantime you are looking elsewhere (as are they). If you get the call and haven't bought yet, great. If you buy something else first, great. If they find another buyer to pay more first, well, there are lots of Z's out there.
