All the show cars previous to my 370Z were daily drivers (238 miles / day 5 days a week for the past 5 years). I usually was washing the cars 2 to 3 times per week and using the detailing spray every off-wash evening to keep the soot off the car that accumulates on it from the exhaust particles in the highway air. I kept the wash regime going through the entire winter as well. I have done this since 1997 since first starting to show cars.
Yes it subtracts time out of your life from doing other things but all my cars looked better than the day they came off the production line even after 100,000+ miles. The car will always look as good as the time you are willing to put into it. Me personally I believe in investing a 20 minutes to 45 minutes every day to maintaining the look of the entire car after paying the kind of $$$ paid for them. Though all cars depreciate right off the dealer lot, the slowing down of the rate of depreciation is actually an investment.
