CPL i only use it when it's real sunny outside. B+W one comes in a plastic lens case so i place it in there when not in use. you may need to up the EV by +0.3 to get better results as there is significant filtering just by putting it on.

I actually like using the CPL filter on cloudy days because it gives the clouds a much more dramatic effect...if you're going for that kind of look.
