I can see your point of view. And I guess you're right the oil engine light is a bit of a idiot warning system but to me a car needs oil just as much as it needs fuel and to be quite honest i find it rather ridiculous that Nissan doesn't have a properly functioning check oil light on the vehicle. That would be equivalent to having a fuel light that does not working properly coming off the manufacturing line. Nissan knows that in some 370's there is a serious situation with the car drinking alot of oil. The car only has 33k miles on it. I check the oil on a regular basis however recently the car went in for some body work and was held for like 6mths because an electrical part was on back order so maybe that had something to do with this.
