I recently installed a bazooka 6.5 inch 250 watt Amplified Bass tube... I needed some bass for my base system to add to my Polk components.. It did the trick perfect.. In the car with my decks EQ I have one setting where you get more than enough bass, and one custom setting that is subtle bass where one wouldn't even assume I have anything more than a stock system that actually has bass... Its perfect for when I am alone and want extra bass or have passengers that I will be BSing with without being drowned out by bass at low volumes.. It is not the cleanest bass, but its certainly enough to satisfy me.
Its exactly what I wanted... Its very loud and noticeable in my car but outside NOTHING vibrates and you cant even tell I have a system when I roll up. This is EXACTLY what i wanted... Its more than enough bass and its not intrusive or over the top... and I lost no hatch space at all!!!
I'm def happy with how it turned out.. I ran an extra RCA and have a distribution block back there so I can eventually hook up an amp for my highs that I have. I am thinking about putting in the back rear passenger side of the hatch , Inside of the foam piece that I already notched out to make it fit. Since I did it, I store my quick detailer, microfiber towels, and window cleaner and its been very convenient.... so I may try to find another spot for the amp for my highs, lol...
Regardless of that, right now it is drastic improvement over the stock system. The bass tube also only weighs 14 lbs so that is another plus...
I also installed the XM adapter to my HU...
(And please excuse the grossness of my hatch area.. I play A LOT of softball and the Z is my DD... If I ever were to sell it or stop using it as a DD I would have to get all new plastics and a new carpt.. The hatch is my locker for now!)
I used an Rockford 8 gauge wire kit and ran it through the pre drilled hole on drivers side under dash and through the center console... You can snake the wire right behind the engine firewall to the drivers dide, and there is a small little hole under the clutch fluid assembly to put it through.. Automatics have much easier access to this hole. Worked out great..
